Looking Back at 2024: Milestones and New Beginnings for the Lunar New Year

As we celebrate the Lunar New Year, we reflect on the significant milestones achieved in 2024.

It was a year of progress, collaboration, and a renewed commitment to sustainability in battery recycling.

🌿 NEDO Contract for Decarbonization Research

In 2024, we signed a contract with NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization)

to begin a groundbreaking project aimed at decarbonization and energy transition.

This initiative highlights Japan’s advanced recycling technology on an international stage, with Hungary as a key focus.

Through collaboration between our Anode Manufacturing and BM Recycling divisions,

we are developing processes to recycle anode scrap into battery-grade material.

This effort reduces reliance on natural graphite, achieving an estimated 87% reduction in CO2 emissions

compared to mined alternatives. The project also promotes resource efficiency and sustainability in the lithium-ion battery industry.

🌟 Exclusive Partnership with Green Li-ion

We also entered into an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Green Li-ion Pte. Ltd.,

a leader in innovative battery recycling technology. This partnership aims to expand sustainable recycling solutions in the markets in Japan, India and other areas of the world.

This collaboration strengthens our efforts to create a circular economy by advancing recycling technologies and reducing environmental impact.

Driving a Circular Economy

As we look toward 2030, the EU’s lithium-ion battery production capacity is expected to more than double,

creating an urgent need for efficient recycling solutions.

Through partnerships with OEMs, battery manufacturers, and innovators like Green Li-ion, we aim to lead

the development of advanced recycling processes while supporting sustainability and market growth.

We thank our partners, team members, and stakeholders for their support in achieving these milestones.

Here’s to a prosperous and sustainable 2025!
